When I first found out about Bluesman, I had to investigate. Nashville, TN is known as a Fender town and many people come here to look for guitars. I came across a Bluesman bass at Corner Music(http://www.cornermusic.com) in Nashville and had to do a double take as I thought at first that it was a vintage Fender. I was intrigued. I found John Scott and started a conversation which in turn became two basses. As things go, John was looking for someone to help spread the word about his instruments and I was heavily interested and our relationship grew. Within the last three years, I have played probably 90% of what has been built. I have spec'd basses for friends and fellow players, which is quite exciting! As I write this, I am waiting on two custom spec'd basses to be completed-one a very special purple El Dorado model (which is reminiscent of a jazz bass) for my friend and fellow bass comrade Lisa, and the other a VERY black DeVille(like a P) with my custom setup including pickups for my friend Rodney.
I will explain my custom basses in Part 2. Here are some regular models that can be purchased from Bluesman Vintage. Check out the website at http://www.bluesmanvintage.com and tell John that I sent you!
